Tectonic Shifts: Bring on the Eclipse

Stand your ground men! Stand your ground!!

The eclipse season is upon us. Change is in the air. Can you feel it?  

On October 8th a New Moon, Lunar Eclipse occurred conjunct Uranus at 15 degrees Aries.  

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? Well, a lunar eclipse likes to shut doors. Where as a solar eclipse opens them. Astrologers have suddenly taken on an notably optimistic viewpoint of eclipses. Which is absolutely true. CHANGE IS GOOD.

Though it may come very sudden. Most people do not like being knocked off their horse without warning. Which is precisely what Uranus likes to do: SHOCK YOU!!

As an Astrologer I have watched mySelf & others experience Uranus transits. It tends to look like that persons life just got blown up, or had the rug pulled out.

Everyone has Aries somewhere in their chart, which means that everyone gets the benefit of its effects. At varying degrees of potency.

Uranus for example, can bring on events like your apartment to start on fire while your in Mexico at a yoga retreat.  Or, your landlord kicking you out of your studio with one months notice.

Uranus in Aries is the planetary force behind the revolutionary uprising of the 99%. And, to top that, the very second this puppy entered the sign of Aries the EARTH CRACKED OPEN in Japan causing the earthquake which brought about the damage we now commonly refer to as the Fukushima nuclear disaster.

This planet does pack a punch. Really though, it’s all for the highest good.

Anything that is taken away is no longer serving you. And, what will soon come take it’s place will be ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!

Remember this, when some important part of your life gets a real shake up. If you breath into it. Ground down and simply LET GO! (Even if it does take you the whole month or longer to finalize the process). Everything is going to be alright!!

Already, I hear whisperings of the changes that may come my way. Three years ago signs of sudden uprising in my personal life may have brought me to personal calamity. Not this time though. Not yet anyhow. I know for sure that even if a difficult path lies ahead it’s all going to be better in the end.

And, I don’t want a silly thing like change to make me upset. After all change is the only constant that we can count on. Right?

Think back to your own recent history. How has life been jolted for you? Were you the one in the drivers seat? Has recent past events left you in the swing of the pendulum?

IMPORTANT to remember is to Find your Center.

Coffee,cigarettes, booze, gossip, and getting upset will definitely unground you.

Grounding activities:

  • Tree hugging
  • Taking out the trash
  • Imagining Roots coming from your feet into the Earth
  • Being Outside
  • Giving Attention to Your Breath

In reflection, certain occurrences did leave me wondering about the future. I must admit however, everything that happened was certainly in my own best interest.

Then on October 23rd, a Full Moon Solar Eclipse took place at 0 degrees Scorpio conjunct Venus.  

My heart opened that day. I gained a greater understanding of what it means to be open hearted. What I went through left me with a better attitude towards Life in general. The thing is– I saw what was coming and made a break for it. Yay!

Role Model

Here we are, the on-set of November with Mars making its way through Capricorn. And, my 5th House. MARS SAYS: Go there!! Do that!! Be ambitious about it. Where ever Mars is transiting (or sitting natally) is where there is the most drive.

The 5th house, is the home of Leo, the Lion. Who rules creativity,romance,children (i.e.true creativity), lovers, playfulness & knowing how to truly be lazy. Lazy like a lion. Yep! Once it’s done stalkin’.

Capricorn on the other hand is serious, career oriented, or, concerned about getting the job done, and the public persona associated with how the job gets done.

There may be an area in all of us where we are a little more stubborn. And, some part of us may be feeling the need to move in full force towards “making it to the top!”

For me, this has begun to play out, BEAUTIFULLY!! By opening up my modeling career to the world of young artists.

OMG!! I was totally impressed before by the wonderful personalities with whom this job allows me to encounter regularly. However, those 14 and under, are so much better!! (Sincere apologies to all adults, please, don’t take this personally).

While one girl I spoke with about what it means to “possess innocence” claims that her own is certainly gone given that she’s read Stephen King. And, I am very happy that she is being exposed to the world through reading, however, I can guarantee that her personal encounters have not yet met the maturity of say, yours truly!  : )

So, to put it simply, MARS traveling through my 5th house of Capricorn, has brought my modeling career to new heights by igniting my relationship to young artists.  HUZZAH!!

*Submerged in this world of young people instinctively brings my thought process back to my own personal mantra that Comfort = Confidence. 

Figure modeling has shown me how neither one of these can be achieved without  Self Acceptance. 

Surfacing this thought process were common comments such as:  “You are much prettier than I am drawing you.”  A kind hearted statement alluding that their drawing was “not that good”, for lack of a better phrase.

Which is absolutely not true. LOOK AT THESE WORKS. Each one is spectacular.

This sequence of recent experiences has further enforced the picture in my minds eye of one day dancing around a classroom as both teacher & model. Often when I imagine this the scene is reminiscent of a Harry Potter classroom & I am very old.

It’s important to have aspirations.

Chicago Figure Model Self Description

Hello, 
My name is CARLY!! 
Have been figure modeling professionally since February 2014.
Am a regular at the Evanston Art Center, Lill St., and Tom Robinson Gallery
(to name a few). I’ve also worked with artists in private, done group workshops out of homes, and have a few friends at the P&C. 
 
Very often I am told that: I AM A GREAT MODEL!  Really, to the point where I’ve begun to collect letters of recommendation to back it up. 
 
Sitting still & being quiet is one of my all time favorite activities. 
So, I am highly skilled at long pose. Love Sculpture!
And, have a natural ability to fall back into position. (Another area where I receive repeat positive feedback).
Usually I am 5’3”, 125lbs, Norweign white girl with a positive attitude.
I like to take pictures of the work that is done of me for my portfolio. 
Am in the (beginning stages) of building a web-site for it.

People always ask: Are you an Artist? The answer is YES!!

Met with a blank stare asking for more. Well what kind of artist are you? I sculpt reality, baby!! 

As an Artist everything I touch is given my own personal creative attention to detail.

I do not limit myself to medians such as oils, acrylic or clay. The world is my canvas. My creative spirit manifests in a multitude of ways.

My aim more than anything is to cultivate an environment which inspires passion, motivates action and is conducive of joy & contentment.

As Community Outreach Carly for non-profit Working Bikes (2010-2012), I was given ample opportunity to get my creative mojo flowing.

A very important aspect in the realm of “Introduction.”

Here is what we will be diving into. Does this material captivate interest within you?

This particular piece is from a Mythology text book used by DePaul University.

Chosen as INSPIRATIONAL MATERIAL for my pet project The Smile Daily.

A good speech or paper goes like this:

  • This is what I’m going to tell you
  • Listen to me. Now I’m telling you
  • Here is a brief summary of what I just told you
  • BAM!!

On another note: it is both wise & beneficial to pull inspiration from a plethora of sources. Even better to grab it from unexpected places. Go for those that don’t exactly “meet up” with your subject matter.

Let’s elaborate this point:  Your business has to do with bottle tops. While out on the town you see signage for tacos. Something in the verbage makes you say “Ah ha!” I  can really connect to my customer with that. Grab that juicy nugget and use it to your advantage.

It’s actually builds a more solid foundation for long-term success to grab what works from different areas which do not exactly fall in the same criteria as your product. Essentially, Think Outside the Box.

Keeping it authentic creates product differentiation.
